Weibel Scientific is a leading global developer and producer of advanced Doppler radars, which they want to raise awareness of prior to the Danish Defense Agreement 2017. Morsing joined Weibel at Folkemødet to meet with policy makers, government officials, businessmen and citizens to discuss NATO and missile defense. The purpose was simple: No important decision maker should be unaware that a local high-technology company in Allerød can compete with the world’s largest defense companies. But how do you get your messages across at an event with more than 3,000 debates and 100,000 participants? We arrangeed a debate in prime time and planned everything down to the last detail.
At Weibel’s debate, which was organized in collaboration with FAD, the Danish Minister of Defense, government officials, rear admirals, NATO, the industry and experts were all invited to enter into a dialogue with political spokespeople on defense. All stakeholder meetings were systematically logged, messages prepared, SoMe prepared and executed, Q&A rehearsed, and quizzes, posters and brochures produced. Also, we brought a 'small' gimmick: A 12-ton heavy surveillance and tracking radar was exhibited at Folkemødet along with Weibel's radar guides, who were ready to answer questions about Weibel's history and technology.
Weibel's participation at Folkemødet was an important milestone in the effort to contract a radar to the Danish frigates in the Danish Defense Agreement as promised by Helle Thorning-Schmidt at the NATO Summit in 2014. The debate had a full house with an attentive and engaged audience. Weibel's charismatic CEO and spokesman opened doors to new contacts, networks and stakeholders.
